Responsive Teaching
Adapting instruction to the needs of our students
Responsive Teaching
Hello and a warm welcome to The GEN Report, your weekly source of inspiration and insight for the global education community. We hope this edition finds you in good spirits and perhaps even feeling a little love as Valentine's Day approaches.
This week, we get to the heart of Responsive Teaching but before we do, a brief definition: When we talk about responsive teaching, we are referring to an instructional approach that leverages the principles and strategies of formative assessment and purposefully adapts short- (and medium-) term planning to meet the needs of all students in a group. Responsive teaching is a continual interplay between planning, teaching and assessing with truly responsive teachers engaging in all three simultaneously.
In this edition, we present insights from influential figures in the field of education, including Harry Fletcher-Wood, Shirley Clarke and ALTA Education’s very own Stuart Welsh.
Adapting Instruction To The Needs Of Our Students
Whether you are a seasoned professional or just embarking on your educational journey, our carefully chosen resources aim to enhance your understanding and application of responsive teaching.
